Abstract

The coalition agreement for the 19th legislative period of the German Federal Government provides the compilation of a peat protection strategy by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The reduction of peat use is already included in the Climate Protection Plan 2050, adopted by the Federal Government in November 2016 and should be taken into account in federal procurement, information measures and research.
