Press release
22 February 2021
In light of on-going developments with COVID-19 and after thoughtful discussions, the IPC2021 organizing committee has decided to move our 16th International Peatland Congress to an entirely online format.
The official dates for the IPC2021 online congress are Monday, 3 May – Thursday, 6 May.
We believe this is the safest approach for the well-being of our global audience. The virtual congress will include plenary keynote sessions, scientific sessions, plenary PEAT Talks session, full-day Industry Summit programme, as well as spaces in which to connect with exhibitors and colleagues from across the globe.
An easy-to-use virtual congress platform and mobile app will be provided to make the virtual congress experience as valuable as the on-site event could have been. In addition to participation in the live event, all attendees will have access to on-demand recordings for an additional 60 days upon completing the congress.
All the current registrations are automatically transferred to the virtual congress. Congress Secretariat will send the information about partial reimbursement procedure to all delegates who have bought the on-site Congress ticket.
All accepted abstracts are keeping their status. The authors will receive the instructions for online presentations, and pre-recordings and e-poster technical guidelines via e-mail at the beginning of March. Full technical support will be offered to all authors and speakers to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience of presenting virtually.
We hope that going entirely virtual with congress will encourage you to register now if you haven’t done that already. The registration with reduced early-bird price is still open: https://www.peatlandcongress2021.com/registration.
The Congress Secretariat in Estonia will answer all the questions you may have. The organizers hope to meet you virtually in May!
