SUMMARY

Forest and tropical peatlands fires provide a wide impact on various aspects of life including health, economy and environment. Massive forest and peatland fires in Central Kalimantan began in 1997 and likely to recur in every dry season, including severe drought occurred in the year 2105 in conjunction with the strong influence of El Nino.
