Welcome to the March IPS webinar! Mark the date and join us 🙂 The link will be shared by email to members.
Join us for an in‑depth webinar exploring the vital role of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) — the scientific heart and brain of the International Peatland Society.

The SAB drives the core scientific mission of IPS. It supports the Society’s day‑to‑day work and leads a wide range of scientific activities, including webinars, publications, project work, events, participation in consultations, and answering peatland‑related questions from members and external parties. Working closely with Expert Groups, National Committees, and peatland stakeholders, the SAB helps ensure that IPS remains a trusted global hub of peatland knowledge.
During the webinar, we’ll look into the structure of SAB — including its three commissions on Economy, Environment, and Society, supported by expert groups that bring specialized peatland expertise. SAB, chaired by the 2nd Vice President, operates on a voluntary basis and its independence, strong professional network, and scientific depth make it the first point of contact for many seeking credible peatland information for their everyday work.
We will also present a brief overview of SAB’s activities from the past years, developing plans and open a discussion on how to bring SAB activities even closer to IPS members and the wider peatland community.
Join us to discover what the SAB does and why it matters!
